SALERNI FILIPPO

Filippo Salerni (Milan, 1985) trained at the prestigious Fine Arts Academies of Brera in Milan and Carrara, specializing in sculpture. During this period, he explored classical techniques such as lost-wax casting and marble carving, laying a solid foundation for his future artistic endeavors.
Driven by an insatiable desire for creative exploration and a keen interest in metalworking, Salerni embarked on a collaboration with the renowned Officina Lopane, a historic hub for the restoration of vintage cars.

Constantly guided by a deep fascination with metal craftsmanship, Salerni stands at the crossroads of past and present. His sculptures bear wounds, scars, and metamorphoses resulting from the extreme processes to which they are subjected. It is impossible not to recognize a profound inspiration from Futurist aesthetics; much like the sculptures of masters Umberto Boccioni and Renato Bertelli, Salerni’s works pulse with a disruptive, primordial energy. The dualism characterizing his research finds full expression in the tensions animating his pieces—forms suspended between weight and lightness, chaos and order.

In parallel with his fervent artistic practice, Salerni has collaborated for several years with major fashion houses, lending his creativity to the production of sets and events for Fendi, Prada, Versace, and Stone Island, among others. Works such as Res Flecto—the imposing installation created in 2023 for Bulgari around Milan’s Arco della Pace—reveal the essence of his artistic reflection: through a colossal reflective surface, the artist presented the city with a mirrored and inverted image, creating a visual fusion between time past and time present.
